Kroy K-Series Labelers
All of the K-Series Kroy label printers,
including the K5100 handheld printer, can print wire and
cable markers. This page shows a few examples of how shrink
tube wire markers and self-laminating wire wraps are used.

|

Shrink Tubes are used to mark and identify wire. Shrink tubes
provide a durable, long lasting identification label for wires.

Self-laminating wire wraps are used to identify cables. Wire
wraps are used for larger diameters than shrink tubes and
can be applied after the wire or cable has been terminated.

Self-laminating wire wraps can be used to label bundles of
wires or cables

Right: Self-laminating wire wraps can be hand marked,
in addition to the printed information, before the clear laminate
is wraped over the opaque portion of the label.
|
Shrink tube labels are printed and
then slipped over the end of the wire.
A heat gun is used to shrink the tube to a tight fit on the wire.
Shrink tube labels can not slip or come off the wire.
Note: Shrink tubes must be installed beforethe wire is terminated.
Wire wraps are used for larger diameter
cables and for labeling wires and cables after they have been
terminated. Information is printed on an opaque white section
of the label, then a clear "tail" is wrapped around
the wire or cable, to cover and protect the printed portion of
the label.
Wire wraps can be used for a single wire, cable
or conduit, or for bundles of cables. Wire wraps also provide
the option of adding handwritten information, in addition to the
printed information, before the clear "tail" is wrapped
around the label.
